Can anyone top Andy Roddick’s fastest serve? Which player has point-point accuracy? Fans should have a chance to find out when ATP players face off in a skills competition, part of the All-Star event to be staged prior to the BNP Paribas Open, the season’s first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tennis tournament in Indian Wells, California.
ATP Executive Chairman and President Adam Helfant met with members of the press Tuesday at the US Open and shared plans for the new initiative, which will likely include celebrity doubles matches and an awards show – similar to the successful All-Star Weekends held by the NBA and NHL. “We’ve talked to our players about it and our players are excited about it and committed to it,” Helfant said."
